A Headland man accused of raping and sodomizing a 14-year-old girl is now facing dozens of other sex crime charges.
Randy Cook, 32, is charged with 15 counts of 2nd degree rape, 15 counts of 2nd degree sodomy, 14 counts of facilitating the travel of a child for an unlawful sex act, 1 county of electronic solicitation of a child and 1 county of traveling to meet a child for a sex act.
It's believed the abuse of the 14-year-old spanned more than a year. The teen victim's mother discovered and reported the alleged abuse to police.
Police would not comment when asked if there were possibly other rape victims. They would only say the investigation is ongoing.
During the investigation of the sex crimes, police searched Cook's home and discovered a large amount of stolen property. Items seized included guns, chainsaws, table saws, money, ammunition, and other expensive items.
Also confiscated were 3 trucks, an SUV and an ATV. All the property was taken as part of the criminal investigation.
Authorities say they'll release more information in this case during a news conference Thursday.
Cook, whom authorities say faces even more charges, is currently being held without bond in the Henry County Jail.
