MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

One of the suspects in a high profile Montgomery murder-for-hire case pleaded guilty Tuesday before a judge to her role in the crime.

Serena English pleaded guilty to her role in the murder of Ralph "Critterman" McNeill and as part of her plea deal will spend the rest of her life in prison.

English and McNeill were involved in a heated custody battle at the time of the murder. She and her fiance, former Montgomery doctor David Nash, are accused of paying two men to kill McNeill.

Those two men are cousins Jeremy and Kendall Riley. Jeremy Riley has already pleaded guilty. Kendall Riley stood trial in early 2013 but a hung jury resulted in a mistrial

A jury found Nash guilty in August. He is expected to be sentence to life without parole when he goes before a judge on October 4. His defense team is planning an appeal.

McNeill's body was found less than 50 feet from his burned out pickup truck in January 2011.
