BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The LSU Academic and Student Affairs Committee adopted Friday a request to consolidate the administration of the LSU College of Agriculture and the LSU Agricultural Center.
LSU and the LSU Ag Center see the merger of administration of agricultural programs as a way of saving money with greater efficiency. It covers the functions of teaching, research and extension of agricultural programs.
The request included consolidating the positions of chancellor of LSU Ag Center and dean of College of Agriculture into a single position. The new position would be titled 'Vice President for Agriculture and Dean of the College of Agriculture.'
The measure is scheduled to go before the LSU Board of Supervisors Friday afternoon.
