MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
A proposal to tow the cars of unlicensed drivers involved in accidents in Montgomery will be considered by the full city council. The driver would have to pay fees and show a valid license and proof of ownership to get it back.
"The city isn't reinventing the wheel. These are laws that are on the books. We're just putting some teeth behind what we have on the books," said Councilman Glen Pruitt, who supports the ordinance.
Drivers would have to a $25 administrative fee in addition to any towing costs. The council is set to consider the proposal on October 1st.
