BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The State Treasurer is getting tough with more than 30 Louisiana non-governmental organizations (NGO), also known as non profits.
John Kennedy has turned their names over to the Legislative Auditor's office and the state for not filing required financial reports.
Louisiana has given more than three dozen area NGO's more than $4 million for their programs and wants to make sure the money was spent right.
At least eight of the NGO's going under the microscope are from the greater Baton Rouge area.
