Police name "person of interest" in shooting death of 11-year-old

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WWL-TV) -

Authorities have released the name of a person of interest in the shooting death of an 11-year-old girl in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Police Department believes Keith Ward, 33, may have been at the scene when the shooting happened.

Arabian Gayles was at her home on General Ogden in the Carrollton area Monday morning when someone opened fire outside.

"We believe that Keith Ward was on the scene and we have an opportunity to talk to him and we want Keith to give us that chance," said Ronal Serpas, superintendent of NOPD.

A 38-year-old man and another 11-year-old girl were also shot, but are expected to be okay.
