Lipscomb mayor considering legal action after arrest

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Lipscomb's mayor is threatening a lawsuit after Brighton police arrested him in Lipscomb.

Mayor Lance McDade says he believes the arrest stems from his firing of a Lipscomb firefighter earlier this year. That firefighter is now a first responder in Brighton, who assisted in a fire Monday night.

The mayor says, that firefighter told a Brighton police officer to make the arrest and the officer told Brighton's police chief the mayor was being argumentative and was interfering with the scene.

Mayor McDade has contacted his attorney and will discuss possible legal action against Brighton.
