Authorities have identified the man hit and killed by a train Tuesday morning in Elsmere.
Police were called around 6:45 a.m. to the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks, just south of the Main Street crossing, for a pedestrian struck.
Upon arrival, officers found Kevin Carpenter, 33, of Florence, across from the Allendale Mobile Home Park. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers tell FOX19 that Carpenter was reportedly sitting on the tracks when he was struck. The train was headed northbound at the time of the incident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Elsmere Police Department, the Kenton County Coroner's Office and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Police.
