CATS announces public meetings on proposed route changes

BATON ROUGE, LA - Capital Area Transit System (CATS) will hold public meetings to receive public input on changes in routes which will be effective in 2014.

CATS staff will be available to explain the proposed changes as well as to receive input and suggestions from those in attendance.

The hearings will be Monday, September 23 through Thursday, September 26, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the following locations:

September 23 - City of Baker Council Chambers, 3325 Groom Road in Baker

September 24 - Delmont Service Center, 3535 Riley Street in Baton Rouge

September 25 - BREC Headquarters, 6201 Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge

September 26 - Bluebonnet Library, 9200 Bluebonnet Boulevard in Baton Rouge

Written statements may be delivered to the staff at the hearing or the CATS Administration Building at 2250 Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge prior to the hearings.

In order to grow its service in accordance with changes promised in 2012, CATS proposes the growth of the system from 20 to 28 routes. CATS will make available proposed system maps and schedules for public comment.
