BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Funeral services for 22-year-old LSU student Chris Broussard are set for 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 2, 2013.
It will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church in Baton Rouge.
Broussard's body was found Wednesday off Highway 30. Investigators believe his truck hit a guard rail and flipped, landing in Bayou Manchac.
Broussard's family filed a missing persons report last Wednesday. His family says Chris was about to leave Bogie's Bar and Grill around 1 a.m. Tuesday and he never made it home.
His truck was found Wednesday after a Baton Rouge Police Department helicopter spotted it in water off LA30 near the Ascension Parish/Iberville Parish line.
Broussard was a senior at LSU and a member of the Theta Chi fraternity.
LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander sent out the following statement:
"We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chris Broussard. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this time. It is always difficult for the LSU community to lose one of our own and grief counseling services are available to anyone from LSU impacted by this loss."
