WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - The Northeastern part of West Baton Rouge Parish is under a boil advisory.
According to the West Baton Rouge Council, there was a mechanical failure that is affecting areas in the parish:

Rosedale Road, Court Street and Commercial Drive -- East of Highway 415 to the City Limits of Port Allen
I-10 Frontage Road West of Highway 415
South Westport Drive
Southern Pacific Road
If you experienced low water pressure Sunday, September 01, 2013, please follow the boil advisory as listed below. If you did NOT experience low water pressure, this does NOT pertain to you or your home.
Because of these problems, the water produced by our water supply system is of questionable microbiological quality.
Therefore, as a precaution, the West Baton Rouge Parish Natural Gas & Water System is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY effective immediately. This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Water System. Continue to check the West Baton Rouge Parish Website and Facebook for updates.
It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)
Again, please be sure to disinfect your water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise.
The West Baton Rouge Parish Natural Gas & Water System will rescind this Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals – Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from the water supply system have shown the water to be safe.
