PORT HUDSON, LA (WAFB) - A man who had worked at the Georiga-Pacific plant in Port Hudson for 22 years was found unresponsive early Saturday morning in a warehouse, a mill spokeswoman said. Despite efforts by EMTs to revive him, he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The man is identified as 53-year-old Leon Boudreaux, according to GP's Public Affairs manager Patty Prats-Swanson. Georgia-Pacific is working with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office to investigate the death, she said.
EBRSO spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks confirmed the death and said it appears the man fell off of a fork lift around 3 am. She added that an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
