3 face charges in beauty salon owner beating and robbery

PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) -

Police have arrested a man suspected of beating a beauty salon owner with some type of weapon and robbing her.

The Plaquemine Police Department said Jonathan Johnson, 21, of White Castle, was arrested Saturday. Investigators reported the crime happened on August 9. They added the incident was on Crime Stoppers.

Detectives said the victim was leaving her beauty salon on Labauve Avenue in Plaquemine when the suspect walked up with a weapon in hand and hit her several times with it. They said the suspect then took cash and personal items from the woman. They did not specify what type of weapon the suspect was carrying.

Johnson was booked into the Iberville Parish Jail on charges of aggravated battery and armed robbery. Bond information was not provided.

Authorities said two teens were also arrested in connection with the crime. A 15-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were charged with accessory to aggravated battery and accessory to armed robbery. They were placed in the Assumption Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
