BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Students from several states will be in Baton Rouge this week for a robotics competition known as Red Stick Rumble.
The students, with a little help from groups including NASA, will face off in several challenges. First Robotics is a national organization for robotics competitions that allows students to compete for prizes and scholarships based on their robotics team performance.
The Woodlawn High robotics team, which is named Panthrobotics, will host this weekend's competition. The team and the community could not be more excited.
High school teams from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Arkansas had about six weeks to build their robots.
Woodlawn's team is only one of two high school teams in the district partially-funded by the Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System, which supports science, technology, engineering, arts and math related programs.
