HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Another suspect was arrested for the shooting of a man who was standing just outside of his apartment complex.

Kenish Smith, 22, was arrested for his alleged involvement to the incident.

According to Tangipahoa Sheriff Daniel Edwards, Smith allegedly drove Travon Pitts, 25, to an apartment complex on Happywoods Road. Pitts made contact with the victim and then pulled a handgun on him and shot the victim from the passenger side of the vehicle.  The victim was hit once in his thigh.

Further investigations led investigators to link both suspects to the crime, and then subsequently arrested them. Both Smith and Pitts will be charged with 2nd-degree aggravated battery.

Pitts was booked into the Livingston Parish jail on August 5, and he will be extradited to the Tangipahoa Parish prison.

The victim was reported as being in good condition, and his wound was not life threatening.
