TICKFAW, LA (WAFB) - Four people are facing charges after two homes were broken into Monday and one of the homeowners got into a fight with one of the burglary suspects.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests:
Zachary Kinchen, 23, of Tickfaw
Brandie Grayson, 31, of Natalbany
Brandon Viola, 20, of Ponch
Travis Jones, 34, of Natalbany
Sheriff Daniel Edward said his deputies responded to a break-in at a home in Natalbany where an iPad and Xbox 360 were stolen. He added while that burglary was being investigated, another one was reported in Natalbany.
Edward said the homeowner there got into a fight with the suspect. The suspect got away, but the victim gave deputies the suspect's name and a vehicle description. The homeowner identified the burglar as Kinchen.
According to reports, a deputy responding to the scene spotted Kinchen on Natalbany Road (LA 1064) and pulled him over. TPSO said the deputy "detained the occupants" but did not say if all four people arrested were in the car at the time.
Investigators said the suspects confessed to both break-ins and detectives were able to get a search warrant for the home where Grayson and Jones live. Detectives reported finding the following:
Numerous stolen items
Various prescription medications that were not in bottles
2 guns (suspected stolen)
$2,565 in cash
Kinchen is charged with burglary of an inhabited dwelling, unauthorized entry, simple battery and outstanding FTA warrants. His bond was set at $33,000.
Grayson is charged with possession of stolen property, possession of CDS I, possession of CDS II, possession of CDS IV, possession with intent to distribute CDS IV and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $88,000.
Viola is charged with unauthorized entry, simple battery and numerous FTA warrants. His bond was set at $8,000.
Jones is charged with numerous FTA outstanding warrants. His bond was set at $6,500.
The investigation is ongoing.
