NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - A New Orleans man, wanted for his involvement in a violent beating and kidnapping that was caught on tape, has turned himself in.

According to WWL-TV, New Orleans police say Elvin Terrell, 35, was seen in the lobby floor of a hotel pacing and arguing with a woman. The entire incident was caught on surveillance tape at 5 a.m. Friday on the 300 block of Loyola.  The graphic video shows the suspect attacking the woman in the hotel lobby, fighting with her continuously as they move outdoors until she is knocked onto the ground and appears to be semi-conscious.  The woman was then dragged and tossed into a car and driven way.

Another woman was seen in the video but WWL-TV reports ( http://bit.ly/19rXd6S ) that it is unclear what relation she had to the incident.

Police believe the fight was of a domestic nature. They found a 6-year-old boy in one of the hotel rooms that was booked by one of the individuals connected to the incident.

Terrell came to the New Orleans Parish Prison to turn himself in. He was charged with one count of domestic second-degree battery, one count of domestic kidnapping, child desertion, child endangering, and cruelty to a juvenile.

There is no report on the condition of the victim in the video.

However, the discovered child was placed into protective custody.
