State Police: Suspect intentionally crashed into sheriff's deputy

POINTE COUPEE PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

A Pointe Coupee man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly crashed a stolen car into a sheriff's deputy's vehicle.

According to reports, Travis Jarreau, 28, was trying to escape from deputies who were investigating a domestic abuse incident.

State Police say Jarreau deliberately crashed into a sheriff's office unit on LA-413 north of LA-414.

The deputy suffered only minor injuries in the crash.

Jarreau was arrested for 3rd offense DWI, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving with a suspended license, domestic abuse battery, simple criminal damage to property, false imprisonment, theft of a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a movable.
