GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Sheriff's deputies are looking for a second suspect in connection with the shooting of a pregnant woman.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said it is trying to find Tiffany Victor, 27, of LaPlace. Maj. Kevin Hanna said Victor is wanted for accessory after the fact of attempted first-degree feticide and accessory after the fact of attempted second-degree murder.
Deputies said the victim was eight months pregnant when she was shot Wednesday morning. She was rushed to an area hospital, where doctors performed an emergency delivery of the baby. The woman also underwent surgery for her gunshot wounds. APSO reported mom and baby are both in stable condition.
Cowan Collins, 27, of Hammond, the victim's ex-boyfriend, was arrested the day of the shooting. Investigators said he started firing shots at the woman as he approached her car as she was about to leave her home in Gonzales. They added the victim drove off and while trying to get away, crashed on LA 621.
Collins is charged with attempted second-degree murder and attempted first-degree feticide. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and his bond was set at $550,000.
