CENTRAL, LA (WAFB) - The city of Central's first and only mayor will not be seeking a third term in April's election.
Mac Watts was appointed by Gov. Kathleen Blanco in 2007, and then won back-to-back elections for two more terms.
He was there from the beginning of Central and led the city to its now large and financially sound status.
Watts said he still intends to give his full attention to Central through his last day in office, which is June 30, 2014.
Qualifying for the mayoral race begins in February and the election for the next mayor will be on April 5.
