NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) -

The chief of the National Flood Insurance Program is touring Louisiana.

David Miller is checking out the state's flood protection infrastructure, as members of the congressional delegation fight the possibility of higher flood insurance premiums.

At issue are flood insurance bills for homeowners who have historically been grandfathered in at lower rates.

Now, those folks are facing higher premiums because of new flood maps and last year's overhaul of the insurance program.
