Deputies arrest suspect in triple shooting

THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man in connection with a shooting at a restaurant that left three people wounded early Sunday morning.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office said Larry Chatman, 22, of Thibodaux, faces attempted murder charges. The shooting happened at the Waffle House in Gray. Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said the victims were bystanders.

Detectives said surveillance cameras from nearby businesses captured the shooting on video and Chatman was identified as the suspect. He was arrested during a traffic stop in Thibodaux.

He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on three counts of attempted second-degree murder. His bond was set at $1 million.

Officials said the victims are recovering from their injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation.
