BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The mother of an 11-month-old was arrested Tuesday after doctors found healed breaks and other injuries the baby had suffered.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said Tymekia Crawford, 20, of Baton Rouge, is charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
Investigators said Crawford took her baby girl to the hospital Sunday for possible pneumonia.
According to reports, an examination revealed the child had multiple healed fractures to her extremities and brain swelling.
The infant is being treated for potentially life-threatening injuries.
Crawford was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the above charge.
