BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - An intense search through an East Baton Rouge Parish neighborhood led to the arrest of a suspected car burglar early Monday morning.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said the suspect was caught in the Broadmoor subdivision. His name was not released.
Deputies received several calls about vehicles being broken into in the Central area over the past couple of nights. One homeowner saw something Sunday night, went outside and allegedly spotted a suspect breaking into a vehicle in the Comite Hills subdivision.
Deputies responded and a K-9 unit began tracking the suspect around 3 a.m.
"5:00 in the morning and people walking around with tote bags and you realize later, they found it full of guns," said David Harris, who lives in Broadmoor. "It's crazy!"
The investigation is ongoing and authorities believe there may be others involved with the break-ins.
Other agencies in the area assisted EBRSO in trying to locate the suspect.
