Police: Pair punches referee at peewee football game

LOCKLAND, OH (FOX19) -

Two men appeared in court Monday for allegedly assaulting a referee at a peewee football game.

Demetrius Alexander, 22, and Alonzo Gill, 25, were arrested on Saturday afternoon at a football field located in the 100 block of Anna Street in Lockland. Court documents state that the two are brothers.

According to court documents, the pair stormed the football field during a youth football game amongst 5 and 6-year-old children.

Documents state the pair was unhappy with a call and began yelling at the referee. Police say that the confrontation got physical and resulted in one of the men punching the referee in the face.

Both Alexander and Gill have been charged with assault. Bond was set for both at $1,500.
