Deputies: Woman faces drug charges after bags of cocaine found in home

MORGAN CITY, LA (WAFB) - Narcotics detectives said a woman was taken into custody after cocaine and drug paraphernalia was found in her home Friday afternoon.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said Telisa Kenner, 47, of Morgan City, was faces the following charges:

Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile

Obstruction of justice

Deputies said they obtained a search warrant for Kenner's home and discovered several bags of cocaine inside, even though she allegedly tried to get rid of it. They did not give an exact amount of drugs that was found or the estimated street value.

Detectives said a digital scale, a measuring spoon and other drug paraphernalia were located. They added there were several small children inside the home, but did not specify whether the children are hers.

Kenner was booked in the parish jail on the above charges. No bond was set.
