The show will go on: Kidd Kraddick in the Morning returns Monday

DALLAS (WFAA) -- The Kidd Kraddick in the Morning show will return to Dallas' 106.1 KISS-FM Monday with the same name, but without its namesake.

In a post on the station's website Friday, they announced after Kraddick's sudden death, the remaining cast of the show would "continue Kidd's legacy" and are ready to get back on the air.

"Monday's show, although slightly different, is going to be funny, topical and emotional," the post read. "It is the same show you fell in love with when we signed on."

The station said the name of the show would remain Kidd Kraddick in the Morning.

"Kidd worked hard to build this brand, and the bottom line is that the show is Kidd Kraddick In the Morning," the post said. "We ask that you be patient with the new version of the show and allow it some time to grow."

Fans had started an online petition to keep the show on the air. More than 50,000 people signed it.

Kraddick died last weekend while at a charity golf tournament in New Orleans to raise money for his foundation, Kidd's Kids.

The medical examiner in Louisiana said Kraddick likely died from previous heart-related problems.

A private funeral was held for Kraddick Friday. Plans for a public memorial service have not been announced.
