Two arrested for murder after teen's body found in shallow grave

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH (WAFB) -

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre says they have arrested two men who they believe are connected to the murder of 17-year-old Mikivon Maleii Anderson. Anderson had been missing from Garyville, LA since March 24, 2013.

Anderson's body was found in a shallow grave in the Mt. Airy-Gary area late Wednesday night.

Brandon Braxton, 18, of Mount Airy LA, was arrested July 31st and charged with second degree murder, conspiracy to commit second degree murder, and obstruction of justice by tampering with evidence. Braxton's bond was set at $1,600,000.

Nathis Burl, 18, of Mount Airy LA, was arrested July 31st and charged with second degree murder, conspiracy to commit second degree murder, and obstruction of justice by tampering with evidence. Burl also was booked with an attachment for contempt of court in an unrelated case. Burl's bond was set at $1,600,150.

Sheriff Tregre said the investigation into Anderson's homicide is still ongoing. Both Braxton and Burl remain in custody at this time, at the St John Parish Correctional Center.
