FRANKLIN, LA (WAFB) - A man accused of beating a woman so badly she suffered broken bones in her face is now behind bars.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported Moises Stratton, 36, of Franklin, is charged with second-degree battery and 40 counts of issuing worthless checks.

Deputies said he was arrested Thursday morning at a business on LA 317 in Franklin in connection with a beating that happened at a home in Patterson on July 6.

According to investigators, Stratton repeatedly hit the victim, which led to the broken facial bones. She was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment right after the incident. Her updated condition was not given.

Stratton was booked in the parish jail on the battery and worthless check charges. No bond was set.
