Police arrest 4 suspected drug dealers in multiple investigations

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police said four people were arrested during several investigations to curb criminal activity in Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Ricardo Phillips, 31, Randy Phillips, 29, Kenneth Sterling, 28, and Jonathan Schaffer, 52, were all taken into custody on drug charges. All four are from Baton Rouge.

Investigators said a handgun and several different types of drugs were confiscated Tuesday. Police reported seizing the following:

Marijuana (160 grams)

Synthetic marijuana (5 grams)

Crack cocaine (4 grams)

Powder cocaine (3 grams)

Foil packs of heroin (4)

Heroin (6 grams)

Oxycodone and Lortab (More than 80 pills)

Cash (More than $600)

Ricardo Phillips faces the following charges:

Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I (3 counts)

Possession with intent to distribute Schedule II (2 counts)

Possession with intent to distribute Schedule III

Possession of firearm with drugs

Possession of firearm by convicted felon

Randy Phillips was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I (2 counts) and possession with intent to distribute Schedule II.

Sterling is charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule I.

Schaffer was booked on possession with intent to distribute Schedule II.

The investigations were conducted by the BRAVE unit and Baton Rouge Narcotic Division.
