Bulldozer, utility vehicle vandalized

ST. MARY PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities are trying identify who vandalized a bulldozer and utility vehicle in the Atchafalaya Delta Wildlife Management Area.

The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says that the equipment was taken sometime between July 19 and July 24.  The equipment was on the Big Island portion of the wildlife management area.

The bulldozer was later found on Big Island buried in mud and water up to the floor board.  The utility vehicle was found stuck in a ditch.

The total damage done to the equipment and the costs of retreiving the them is unknown.

The Big Island portion of the wildlife management area is only accessible by boat.
