Murder suspect arrested 11 months after crime

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Nearly eleven months after 28-year-old Bryan Young was shot and killed in Baton Rouge, a suspect for his murder has been arrested.

The shooting happened at the Sharon Arms Apartments, located in the 2700 block of Huron Street in Baton Rouge around 3 a.m. on August 31, 2012.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said the first officers to respond found Young lying on the ground between two apartment buildings.

Investigators reported he had been shot multiple times in the chest area.

He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and later died there.

Detectives gathered new information during the course of the investigation which led to the arrest of 23-year-old Danny Cousin of Baton Rouge.

According to Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department, Young was shot during an attempted robbery.
