Homeowners association president arrested for theft

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A homeowners association president has been arrested for stealing $29,000.

Detectives say David Heroman, 42, wrote ten checks out to cash and signed them while president of the Riverbend Lakes Homeowners Association.

According to reports, Heroman told the vice president that he had accidentally closed the association's account, but had been using his business account with Heroman's Florist to pay expenses.

Heroman has been charged with 10 counts of felony theft.
