CBS Atlanta News has confirmed with the Atlanta Falcons that Matt Ryan has signed a 5-year contract extension with the Atlanta Falcons.
Sources close to negotiations tell CBS Atlanta News that the deal is said to be worth $100 million.
Ryan had his best season as a NFL quarterback, setting single-season franchise records for passing yards, pass attempts, completions and touchdown passes. He leads the NFL with a 68.6 completion percentage, and ranked in the top, in the League, and also led the Falcons to a 13-3 overall record.
Ryan led his team to their first playoff win in 2012, and its third trip to the NFC Championship game in franchise history. He completed 54 of 77 pass attempts, which was the 12th highest playoff completion percentage for a single postseason in NFL history.
Ryan has led the Falcons to a 56-22 record, which is the best mark by a quarterback in his first five seasons. Ryan tied QB Ben Roethilisberger, as the second fastest active quarterback to reach 50 wins, reaching a milestone in 69 games.
