An old high school building has burned in Mount Olivet.
WLEX-TV (http://bit.ly/13Qk5Oz) in Lexington reported at least six fire departments battled the large blaze Wednesday night at the Deming School.
The school was closed in January and the building was scheduled to be demolished.
The cause wasn't immediately apparent, but fire officials say it appears suspicious because there has been recent vandalism in the building. Police charged five boys with vandalism after property inside it as damaged in March.
A state fire investigator will examining the remains of the structure to search for evidence.
