Town hall meeting set to discuss future of CATS

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A day after a contentious meeting over management decisions within Baton Rouge's bus system, a few city leaders announced a town hall meeting to discuss the plans for the future of the Capital Area Transit System (CATS).

"We believe a lot of the rhetoric has gotten unbearably negative and that is unhealthy for our community," said Councilwoman Ronnie Edwards, District 5.

Edwards and other members of the East Baton Rouge Metro Council will hear from the public at the town hall meeting on Tuesday, July 23 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

It will be held at the Southern University College of Business.
