Bengals hold season kickoff pep rally

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Bengals hosted the second annual Season Kickoff Pep Rally on Thursday at Paul Brown Stadium.

"We created the Pep Rally last year as a fun way to kick off the first-ever Cincinnati training camp," said Jeff Berding, Bengals director of sales and public affairs. "Although last year we were impacted by stormy weather, season ticket holders who attended reported to us that they had a great time. We have worked to make this year's rally bigger and better and want to open it to all fans free of charge."

Gates to PBS will open at 7 p.m., and the highlight film from the 2012 Bengals playoff season will be broadcast on the video boards.

Bengals mascot WhoDey, the Ben-Gals cheerleaders and the Reds Rally Team were all in attendance. Popular local band "The Rusty Griswolds" performed, and Bengals alumni players signed autographs for fans.

The 2013 Bengals team was introduced, with Marvin Lewis and players addressing the crowd of fans. The evening was capped off with a fireworks display over Paul Brown Stadium.

The Bengals' first preseason game is scheduled for August 8 against the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta.
