Troopers report victim of deadly hit and run had BAC over legal limit

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities have released more information about a deadly hit and run crash involving the Livingston Parish School Board president.

Louisiana State Police reported William "Cody" Iasigi, 21, of Liberty, MS, the man who was killed in the wreck, had a blood alcohol level of .22 percent. The legal limit in Louisiana is .08 percent.

Troopers said he stopped his truck and got out on LA 43 just north of Greensburg a little before 5 a.m. on June 15. They added that's when he was hit by a truck driven by Malcolm Sibley, 65, of Walker.

Investigators later revealed Iasigi stepped out of the vehicle after an argument with a passenger in his pickup.

He was driven to the hospital by the passenger and another man. He was pronounced dead around 5:05 a.m.

Sibley has been charged with felony hit and run.
