Police: Bank robber waits for officers at crime scene

MOULTON, AL (WAFF) -

Moulton Police took a bank robber into custody Monday morning.

Investigators said 49-year-old Rickie Lawrence Gardner went into Bank Independent with a note around 9 a.m.

They said he took money, left the bank and put the cash in the front seat of his car. He locked the money in the car before going back into the bank and sitting on a bench to wait for police to arrest him.

Officers arrived on scene several minutes later and arrested Gardner.
