The death of 19 firefighters, the ousting of Egypt's president and the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest were some of the headlines this week. The death of 19 firefighters, the ousting of Egypt's president and the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest were some of the headlines this week.

(RNN) - Nineteen firefighters were killed while battling a wildfire in Arizona.

The firefighters died of burns and smoke inhalation. The Yarnell Hill Fire is believed to have been started by lightning and has burned more than 8,000 acres.

In Egypt, military leaders ousted President Mohammed Morsi and placed him under house arrest. The military also arrested leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood who supported Morsi. The ousted president is accused of authoritarianism and failing to keep order.

The Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest was held on the Fourth of July. Both male and female returning champions defended their titles.

    A man accused of an attempted armed robbery Thursday night was shot in the process and died early Friday morning, according to investigators. The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Kylin Spencer, 19, died at the hospital from gunshot wounds.
