THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - According to the Thibodaux Police Department, a homeless man living in the woods near Thibodaux is accused of sexually assaulting a child two different times.

Police say 49-year-old Brian Stickel lured the child into the woods near the child's home Friday afternoon with a promise that he would teach the child how to shoot a bow and arrow. Once in the woods, Stickel is accused of sexually abusing the child.

Reports say Stickel abused the child once before at the child's home several weeks earlier and gave the child money.

When police arrived to get a report from the child's parents, Stickel was sitting outside of an apartment across the street, so he was quickly taken into custody.

Stickel was booked into the Lafourche Parish jail on two counts of aggravated rape. He is being held on a $300,000 bond.

Thibodaux, LA is 68 miles south of Baton Rouge.
