Beginning Monday, July 8, Fort Rucker will close their Faulkner (Shell Field) and Newton Gates due to the beginning of the Department of the Army civilian workforce furloughs.

The gates will be completely closed to inbound and outbound traffic beginning July 8, until further notice.

Delivery trucks and large loads should use the Ozark Gate during this time. If you have questions about deliveries contact your agency's point of contact.  Visit http://www.rucker.army.mil/ to check for any changes in gate status.

Also, the Commissary will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning July 8, through the end of September. The week of the Labor Day holiday, the commissary will be closed on Monday through Wednesday.

The furlough will impact the Department of Army civilian workforce beginning the week of July 8th through the end of September.
