Company, owners plead guilty to illegally disposing wastewater

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The owners of a wastewater company have pled guilty to injecting 380,000 gallons of industrial wastewater into a well in Assumption Parish.

Raymond Marcel Jr., 60, and Cyril Robicheaux, 43, admitted to paying kickbacks to the operations manager of FAS Environmental Services to use the company's well in Belle River to dispose of the wastewater.

Marcel and Robicheaux, who owned RAM Environmental Services, also disposed of wastewater at a site in Baton Rouge.

In both cases, the pair admitted to creating false documents and submitting them to hide the scheme from federal and state regulators.

When sentenced, each faces up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and restitution.  Their company was sentenced to three years of probation, a $50,000 fine and restitution.
