Shreveport man killed in stabbing, girlfriend charged

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police have charged a local woman in a stabbing death that claimed the life of a Shreveport man Saturday morning.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, officers were called to the Cambridge Apartments in the 9000 block of Mansfield Road for a report of a stabbing just after 4:30 a.m.

They arrived to find the body of a man who had ben stabbed at least once in the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released, pending the notification of his family.

Officers questioned 39-year-old Betty Terrell of Shreveport, who was inside the home when officers arrived. They learned that she was dating the man, and stabbed him during an argument with him. After talking with Violent Crimes Detectives, Terrell was taken into custody and charged with second degree murder. She has been booked into the Shreveport City jail.

Police say the investigation into the incident continues, as authorities seek to gather additional details about what may have led to the deadly stabbing.
