TERRYTOWN, LA (WAFB) - A professional wrestling organization has responded to the death of a Louisiana girl.

World Wrestling Entertainment, a professional wrestling organization, issued a written release on the incident.

"The facts of this case clearly point to a lack of parental supervision," the statement read. "It is illogical to conclude that the repeated brutal and ultimately fatal beating of a 5-year-old little girl could be confused with imitation of WWE action seen on TV."

Authorities said the 5-year-old girl was wrestled to death by her teenage brother in Terrytown, which is across the Mississippi River from New Orleans.

The mother said she left the 13-year-old boy to babysit his half-sister. The teen, an alleged fan of professional wrestling, reportedly told authorities he used the little girl to practice body slams and choke holds.

Now, he has been charged with second-degree murder. His mother will not be charged.
