It's funny how sports or sporting events seem to lift the mood of an entire city. As the LSU Tigers prepare to take the field in Omaha this weekend, you can feel it in the air. It's the Tigers' first trip to the College World Series in four years and fans couldn't be happier, showing their support every step along the way.

At the super regional this past weekend, attendance records were broken two nights in a row. And, LSU finished the regular season first in the nation in attendance for 18 straight years. That's something to be proud of and something to rally around this weekend.

Many fans will make the trek to Omaha and many will be decked out in purple and gold as the first pitch is thrown Sunday night. So, good luck to Coach Mainierie and the team, and just know that you've got the entire city and the best fans in college baseball behind you.
