Dice game fight leads to deadly shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police arrested 33-year-old Frank Johnson and charged him with murder after police say he shot and killed a man following a fight at a dice game.

Police say the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 6500 block of Nottingham in Baton Rouge. Several men were shooting dice when an argument started over money, according to police.

During the argument, reports are that a physical fight started and Johnson is accused of pulling a gun and knocking one man unconscious with it before shooting 43-year-old James Williams in the chest.

Williams died several hours later during surgery at a hospital.

Johnson was found Sunday in the 1800 block of 73rd Street and was booked into the East  Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

He is charged with second degree murder, aggravated second degree battery and felon in possession of a firearm.
