COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -
A woman who is accused of stabbing a man to death at a Colerain Township hotel was in court on Monday.
Shanice Shade is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Officers were called to the 7400 block of Colerain Avenue around 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning to the In Town Suites. Initial reports indicated that a man was possibly shot at the hotel.
Upon arrival, officers quickly determined that the victim, 31-year-old Rico Starkey, was not shot but was suffering from a stab wound.
Starkey was transported to University Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police initially said that Shanice Shade, 31, was a witness to the murder. She was last seen leaving the In Town Suites with her two children shortly after the incident.
Police were able to locate Shade on the 7400 block of Colerain Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening.
Colerain Police announced Shade's arrest for the murder of Starkey on Sunday morning.
Shade's children were also located and are safe.
Police believe the incident evolved from a domestic dispute.
