Police: Suspect robbed 3 Circle K stores overnight

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police are searching for a suspect in who they say robbed three different convenience stores within three hours early Wednesday morning.

The first armed robbery happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Circle K at 2205 Alvin Dark, which is just off Nicholson Drive. Reports say a black male walked into the business and approached the clerk with a small semi-automatic handgun. He demanded money from the clerk.

After the clerk followed the demands, the suspect ran from the business in an unknown direction.

The second armed robbery happened around 4:25 a.m. at the Circle K at 3289 Highland Road.

The third happened about 20 minutes later. The same suspect went into the Circle K at 1644 Nicholson and tried to rob that store. The clerk resisted and managed to knock the gun out of the suspect's hand. Police say the suspect and the clerk scuffled briefly before the suspect escaped on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20's to early 30's. He is between 5'7" and 5'9" and weighs between 130 and 150 pounds. He as visible acne scarring on both cheeks.
