Three arrested for vandalizing Live Oak High School

WATSON, LA (WAFB) - The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office arrested three juveniles Wednesday in connection with vandalism at Live Oak High School.

Two 13-year-old students and a 14-year-old year old student were arrested and charged with felony criminal damage to property, attempted aggravated arson and burglary.

All three are currently in the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center.

Walls were spray painted, windows broken, fire extinguishers emptied and equipment was broken in the football field house and two other buildings on the campus.

Damage is estimated to be at least $25,000.

Deputies were alerted to the damage early Tuesday morning.

Freddie London taught at Live Oak Middle for 35 years and is hopeful whoever caused the damage will turn themselves in.

"It would be a great plus for us to find out who did this and if we can set an example for them, then maybe other people won't follow in the same footsteps or do the same thing to this building or any other building on campus," said London.

London says the field house should be repaired by the start of the next school year.
